9,000 Thanks Appeal

9,000 British Troops are currently serving in Afghanistan, doing a wonderful job under very difficult and dangerous circumstances, putting their lives on the line each and every day.
And we want to say THANK YOU, not just once but 9,000 times!
Our aim is to send a thank you note to each and every Serviceman or woman deployed on Op Herrick and to let them know how proud we are of them.
Many people have been in touch recently to say “what can we do to show our support” - well this is it. And all it will cost is a sheet of paper, a postage stamp and a few minutes of your time.
Not a great deal to ask considering the sacrifices they make for us. But for them to know that they are thought about, and appreciated, will make a big difference.
So 9,000 thank you letters – can we do it? YES we can!
Here's how to take part...
1. Click on the 9,000 Thanks image below
2. Download a 'Thank You' form
3. Print this out
(if you're familiar with print set up you can print duplex ie both
sides of the paper, otherwise just print page 1)
4. Write your Thank You message
5. Fold in half
6. Put a small strip of sellotape on each of the three open edges to seal
7. Put on a stamp
8. And post!
9. We'll then forward on to our boys and girls in Afghanistan
And that's it - nine simple steps for you to follow to show a Serviceman or woman that you care.
