Friday 25th July - Sponsored Pack n Wrap, Social Evening, Raffle

To be held at the RAFA Club, Stonegarth House, Ardayre Road, Prestwick at 7pm. Forms/Tickets available from Agnes.  Donations for parcels or raffle prizes welcomed and these can be handed in to Westsound/West FM, Holmston Road, Ayr or collected. 100 parcels were packed at the last pnw night, so a target to aim for!! Friday 1st August - Support Our Soldiers - An Evening of Entertainment and Fundraising  

The event, very kindly organised by Val Holloran, is to be held at Mariners Club, Filtrona Park, Shaftsbury Avenue, Simonside Industrial Estate, South Shields.  There will be a buffet and raffles and proceeds will be used to provide care packages predominantly to Afghanistan and Iraq, and a contribution will also be made to the Rehabilitation Centre.  Tickets cost just £5.  For more information please contact Joyce who will pass your details on to Val.

Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th August - Evesham Steam Rally

The now infamous SOS stand will also be at the Evesham Steam Rally to be held at Ashdown Farm, Evesham, Worcestershire. WR11 7PA.  Gates open 10am daily.  There will be Steam Engines - Full Size & Miniature, Fair Organs,
  Tractors, Motorbikes,  Vintage & Classic Cars, Commercials plus a large collection of Military Vehicles,  Celestine Dog Agility Display Team, Stationary Engines, Period Caravans, Fairground,  Arena Events, Trade Stalls & Refreshments.  For more info see Evesham Steam Rally

22nd to 25th August 2008 - Master Potter Cheadle SOS Charity Weekend

A fun packed weekend planned starting Friday night with live music.  Saturday and Sunday Day time is for children with face painting, donkey rides, Kids fancy dress, BBQ etc. Saturday night will be an Adults fancy dress with a 70's theme. Sunday night is pool and darts challenge.  Monday daytime is again centred around the children all rounded off with a Charity Auction at 8:00p.m.   There will also be some stalls and of course SOS merchandise on sale. For more information please contact Pauline

5th, 6th and 7th September 2008 - The Victory Show at Cosby

Amanda and volunteers will be camping out 'Afghanistan' style with limited rations, basic toiletries, no mobiles except a 10 minute welfare call, no changes of clothing - just Army issue all weekend!  The only respite will be care packages which will hopefully friends will bring along! Amanda will be looking for sponsorship for the event, so if you'd like to make a donation, or indeed if you'd like to join her over the weekend please do get in touch - Amanda

12th, 13th and 14th September 2008 - Hanbury Steam Rally Weekend

Look out for Maria and the SOS stand at the Rally where there will be 100's of vintage cars, classic cars, motorbikes, tractors, military vehicles, Celestine Dog Display Team, Steam engines fair organs period caravans fairground and arena events.  The event takes place at Little Intall Fields, Stoke Pond Lane, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove. 18th, 19th and 20th September 2008 - Music On Fire

Saturday 25th October - Fancy Dress Party, Glenfield, Leicester  

Very kindly organised by Rachael and to be held at the Glenfield Memorial Hall, Stamford Street, Glenfield, Leicester on October 25th 2008. The tickets are £5 each which include buffet supper.  There will be a disco, raffle and prize for the best fancy dress costume.  Children all welcom to attend.  Anyone not coming in fancy dress will have to pay £1 forfeit! Monday 27th October - Homecoming Parade, Ayr  

Following discussions with Agnes, South Ayrshire Council have agreed to organise a Homecoming Parade for all troops from the area who have been deployed in the preceeding 12 months.  Plans are at an early stage so more to follow.  Agnes
