Helping us to support the British Troops

Welcome to the Support Our Soldiers website.  We're now in our sixth year of running the organisation, something none of us expected.  Rather than diminishing however, interest continues to grow and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has joined with us to support all members of our Armed Forces and their families

Those of you already familiar with the site will know that the aim of SOS is to provide support for our serving men and women, and their families at home.

We do this in every practical way possible - writing to deployed personnel, sending care packages, responding to current needs and by being there when needed.

We're very proud to have built up a huge number of supporters throughout the UK who respond wonderfully to the various appeals run during the year.  Response to our Xmas Parcel Appeal 2007 was infact overwhelming with over 15,000 packages sent out to the British Troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and other overseas operations.

If you're new to the site, we're very pleased to welcome you on board!  Those of you with a family member serving in the Armed Forces can be sure you're amongst friends as we already have lots of wives, girlfriends, mums, dads, grandparents, children and siblings checking in.  All of them know just how hard it can be when your loved one's away from home and will share the ups and the downs whenever they're called upon to do so. 

We have a very active Message Forum which is updated almost by the minute so do check this out and feel free to join in the discussions.

In 2008 we hope to do all we can to provide support and encouragement for all members of our Armed Forces and of course we encourage you to do the same!
